Manchester Cathedral Poetry Prize

Closing Date: 26 June 2015

Judge: Kim Moore (Yes, Kim Moore, who will running a workshop for us on the 7th June!!)

Theme: Poems submitted should be broadly religious or ‘spiritual’ in nature and, like all good religious poetry, appeal to those who would not necessarily describe themselves as ‘religious’. We encourage poetry from a range of faith traditions, as well as from those struggling to discover a sense of the sacred. Poems are welcome in any style or form and will be judged solely their merits as poetry.

Length: 40 lines maximum

Corinium Poetry Competition

Bit different, this one. No monetary prizes; winners will be – well, here’s what they say:

The Corinium Museum is running a poetry competition. We are looking for poems of up to 40 lines inspired by an object displayed or theme interpreted at the museum. The winner of each category will receive a season ticket to the museum valid for a year. Winning poems will be displayed in the museum and published on the museum website.

Guernsey Poetry Competition

Here’s an interesting competition. For poems of 14 lines or less, judge Andrew Motion. Closing date 31 December 2014.

Winners will be contacted by 28 February 2015. Winning poems will become part of the Poems on the Move exhibition, and/or be placed on one of the 33 Guernsey buses, for a period of no less than 6 months, to coincide with the Guernsey Literary Festival on 16-20 September 2015.
