Death of eminent brain surgeon
Headline and obituary in today’s TIMES.
Still young, there would have been
many years’ good work had he lived.
Cruel irony: he died of a brain injury.
Head-butted, when picked on by a gang of youths.
A random attack as he walked home one evening.
He went down and they gave him a good kicking
before running off, laughing mindlessly.
Left him lying on the pavement in foetal position,
arms raised in a vain attempt to protect his head.
Cruel irony, indeed.
Crickey, what a shocking story, quite took my breath. Last two lines are very powerful.
