Not such a good idea

Over the rocks I come.
Struggle out onto the sands,
head lowered into the wind,
leaning against gusts
that whistle around me,
blowing me off course.

Feeling the first splashes,
know I’ve had it.
Soon curtains of rain
sweep the beach,
soaking my clothing,
weighing me down.

I’m forced to admit
it’s all a big mistake,
to turn and retreat
before the full force
of the wind and rain
that beats about my head.
