All steamed up

All steamed up

When I enter that chamber
all I can see is
swirling white hot mist.
Only after feeling my way to the bench
and sitting down
do I sense I’m not alone.
Sure enough, a dark figure
can just be made out,
lurking in the far corner.
“Hello..?” I venture.

The oracle speaks
from the steamy depths
and what’s said is worrying.
Uncomfortably hot gossip.
Hard to see where it might lead.
With some relief,
I move on to the sauna.
Just as hot as the steam room,
but at least here
you can see more clearly.

It sort of melds with the previous ‘questions’ prompt… I like a bit of mystery!

Being hyper critical I’d trim it a bit. Do you need the first line? and ‘to the bench’? and ‘Sure enough’? and ‘at least here’?
